Hi, 你好! I'm Yanting Wang.

I'm a UX Designer & Design Researcher, completing my Master of Design in Human-Computer Interaction at the Institute of Design, IIT Chicago, graduating in December 2026.
I’m interested in design that creates value at multiple scales—from helping individuals make better decisions to helping teams, services, and organizations grow sustainably.
Before becoming a designer, I worked as a middle school fine art teacher, where I gained hands-on experience in learning experience design. My research background helps me think through the why behind design decisions, while my art background strengthens my visual craft and sharpens my sensitivity to subtle details that others may miss.
In Life
Outside of my brain’s default mode of being analytical and critical, I value physical workout and "listening to the body."
Martial Arts: I practice Tang Soo Do (Korean-style Karate). It’s where I cultivate persistence and focus.
Music: I love singing—especially musicals. I’ll be posting some clips on social media soon, so stay tuned!

My art background moves between realism and abstract expressionism. Recently practicing visual notes & digital arts.
I marvel at art history and its great analytics. Experiencing different perspectives, belief systems, and cultures in art history reminds me daily that we live in a multi-faceted world.
Passionate about environmental sustainability, I actively join in projects and volunteer work in related community-building initiatives.
I recently volunteered at a local urban farm and have been helping build a martial arts club and studio community with engagement design work, like photography, video making, and designing social media content.
